Pre-order of the Borealis Scorpionfish won't take place before prototypes are ready.

With Chinese New Year on the corner factory is closed till March 10th and only when they resume production they will be able to finish prototypes.

With this in mind it won't happen before mid/end March.

Hum... Another sexy project...
I said to my self "not too many watches in 2015" but it seems that among these "few" there'll be two Borealis at least, the seadragon and the scorpionfish...

Well, let's wait for then end of CNY and the appearance of the prototypes...

I've just realized that the case will be about the size of the Obris Morgan Explorer : 42mm diameter with big unprotected crown : exactly similar. 49mm lug to lug v. 51 on the Explorer. 14.5mm in height v. 12mm but not a big problem plus the 2000m WR v. 200m has to come from somewhere!

That's really great since I've found that the Explorer is about the centre of the sweet spot in terms of size for my tastes and wrist size.

I'm so impatient to see the prototype and, most likely, jump on the pre-order!!!

Factory resumed work yesterday back from Chinese New Year and they are now working on prototype dials. Hopefully we should be able to present in early April the prototypes of the Borealis Scorpionfish and commence the pre-order.

Sounding good!
Do have an idea of when the watches would be ready, provided of course that the prototypes are too your taste and there are no unforeseen delays?

Delivery will be faster than a full project as part of the parts are already manufactured. Should take 3-4 months till watches are ready.

Current update:

  • dials are now in production
  • bracelet mold has been finished. Working now in production of sample as of latest design
  • working on new mold for ceramic inlay
We expect to have prototype ready around end of this month.

Yeah, makes sense...
I'm already quite sure I'll get the black dial one (having gone white with the Seadragon) but the hands... well, I'm not sure yet. Not sure at all... Seing them "in the metal" will certainly be very helphful.

Maria, a couple of questions please.
Will the S/S bracelet clasp utilize the sliding lock micro adjustments feature, as the rendering makes it hard to tell.
Will the version 2 handset second hand be framed in white or silver, as if it is white, how will it contrast against the white dial?
Thank You.

Yes, the bracelet clasp is fairly similar to the one on the Borealis Sea Hawk. Seconds hand should be silver but let's see how it looks on prototype.

Hey hey... Looks very good and promising. Can't wait for the case/bracelet

The "modern hand set" looks better in the pictures than it did in the CGIs... I feel I might go for it. And that black dial is very nice...
