They look nice Maria, but please consider painting the hand surrounds in black, on the white and possibly orange dials, so the time can easily be read. Thank You.

I'm sorry to say that, IMO, the sandy surface on the dial only works on the black. The other colors just look-well, dirty!

It's hard to tell that from computer renderings. We'll probably need to see the prototypes to truly judge the texture.

This is the type of dial texture we are looking at and in my opinion will look great in all offered colors

As you can imagine it is hard to depict this in 2D renders but with this examples you can have a better idea of what we are aiming at.

  • "working on a slimmer design in terms of thickness."
Maria, Please don't make this watch too thin. I don't believe this design style is intended to be a dress diver. This design needs to have some "visual" weight to it to represent the tool diver I believe you are intending it to be. Too thin and it will look like a coin on a strap on the wrist. With the diameter you are designing to, a 14/15mm thickness proportion would be the sweet spot.

Yes, that is thickness we are working on, about 15mm. Initial designs were thicker than that but we are reducing unnecessary height as only restriction we have is on bezel as it has to be compatible with the Prometheus Manta Ray.

Thinking on offering two bezels for pre-order.

Technical details still being updated as it has to be compatible with the Prometheus Manta Ray bezel system.

Would be foolish of us to provide a price without having costs calculated. All we can assure is that price will be below $1000.00 USD shipped.

Maria,
Thanks for showing the 3 dimensional renders of the G-P. They make it much clearer what we're actually seeing!

Maria,
I'd prefer the Medusa be no more than 13-14 mm in thickness, unless there's some technical reason for it to be thicker. Contrary to the previous contributors analogy to a coin on a strap, I think 15 mm will really look like a puck on your wrist. If that's the look you're going for, fine, just count me out. It doesn't have to look like a dress watch, but, IMO, it does have to fit comfortably under the cuff of a long-sleeve shirt!

Maria,
I noticed you are proposing a 6.5 mm crown diameter. IMO, this robust design would be better served with a 7.5 mm crown. Also, I really don't like the minimalist bezel. No bezel markings impart Minimalist Utility, IMO.

You do realise restrictions exist on design due to interchangeable bezel system and chosen diameter.

The minimalistic bezel is an add on. If you don't like it you don't have to live with it as the watch will be likely supplied during pre-order with 2 bezels.

I think a case width of 44mm and a thickness of 15mm would be a great balanced watch optical and physical !

Sorry, I readily admit I can't fully appreciate all the design challenges, using the limited information available to date.

Borealis Medusa featuring the two bezels developed for project. Minimalistic and gearbox bezel.

Have you finalized the handset colours? Is there any chance of using the chrome hands on the darker black and blue dials? The yellow tipped second hand on the earlier rendering was also a nice touch.

The more customizable options we may offer the higher the costs and sales price.

We are trying to keep things simple in terms of hands.

For the type of customization you look for other brands can offer you that but be prepared to pay almost 3 times the price.

Do not like the Minimalistic bezel design at all, please consider a stainless steel bezel with Lume filled Arabic numbers and indexes instead, would offer a nice included option to the black ceramic bezel.
