I've seen people pay over $1000 for a horribly designed and executed watch (resco) but here we have people balking about what appears to be one the best watch styles of all time costing over $300?? I would pay that for the case alone. I would have preferred a ceramic bezel but I have no big issue with the design as is.
We all have opinions, bad choices, and $$$ budgets, and your entitled to yours.
Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Price for sure will be above 300 USD.

As mentioned we are a business and not a charity.

Don't take this as an arrogant statement of ours but our own cost price will be quite close to 300 USD and I do not work for free.

Components and finish of watch will be top and severely affordable for the specs nevertheless.

We only work with top suppliers since our latest releases starting with the Seafarer almost 2 years ago.

As for a nato or mesh I am afraid a mesh is not a possibility.

Factory asked us a minimum quantity of 500 mesh bracelets as 20mm is hard for them to sell to someone else and our own cost per unit would be 20 USD each so a total of 10,000 USD would have to be invested on a mesh.

I would personally rather pay a little more for a top quality product. Let's wait and see on the pricing but $300 was always going to be too low a target for this project. I will probably order a model D (but will be hoping the price starts with a 4 as opposed to a 5!) :)

What finish will be on the hands of the final model? I've been looking at original watches using Google Images and some appear to be polished while others look brushed. The very first page of this thread has a photo of an original with what appears to be a brushed or matte finished hands, will the Estoril 300m be the same? Thanks.

It would be insane to expect a price at or below $300, it would mean cutting corners on some materials and having handled a Scorpionfish I imagine Borealis clearly doesn't want to do that.
Neither do I want it

I do agree with a number of other forum members willingness to commit to the original plan of utilising a sapphire bezel. IMHO, sapphire is the way to go. Yes, some forum members would rather see a ceramic insert chosen but on the bigger scheme of things, the sapphire option wins out!

Personally, I am still totally committed to acquiring one sample of version "A" (i.e.: no date with black dial & numeral 12-hour index).

I invite forum members, who have not had the opportunity to express their view on the development and progress of this project, to share your opinion and words of encourage and compliment to a fantastic project team.

We all should be proud of being part of this interesting project. Based of my observation on the high quality of my Scorpionfish, I am confident that the "Estoril 300" will be a smashing success...

Maria, My compliments to you and your team in staying on course and say "no" when it comes due. Much appreciated!

In closing, I look forward to placing my pre-order. Hopefully soon?! :)

I'm sorry that I only have come across this project quite late although the blue dialled versions are pretty much exactly what I would have designed given a blank piece of paper so I can hardly complain.
There are almost always aspects of a design which will be a compromise one way or another. My guess is that a sensible approach of design and value for money has been applied here.

Maria, I've everything you done has been below the price point of similar pieces in the category with as good or better fit and finish than many of your competitors. I'm fully committed to being an owner of one of these. As far as the mesh bracelet issue I can get my own if I choose. I really haven't been this excited to get a watch in a while. This will be my first pre-order, never was a fan. So take that as my sign to my commitment to purchase one. Thanks for making great watches!

If the price is $600 or below, Im all in...
For me it's if below $500 I'm in for sure. If at or above that price, I'll have to evaluate what to pick among the three coming projects, very probably 2 out of the three, but which one?

I have no doubt that Maria is determined to come out with a high quality homage to this iconic, and much sought after model. It has definitely generated a lot of interest ....

While it may not be a Watchco SM300, I believe quality, fit and finish will definitely be pretty darn close.

I wouldn't worry too much about not being able to offer a mesh bracelet, as an option, as there are plenty of mesh options available out there. Hopefully this will keep the price down !

Lets just concentrate on a quality Borealis branded nato, or better still a package of two or more.

I feel this is going to be an awesome offering !!!

Yeah, I've got a tropic 20mm that's just begging to be put on this watch... So really, the strap is not a problem. this really is a type of watch that can go on anything...

ADMIN,

When would you expect prototypes or pre-production samples of the Estoril 300 be made available for viewing and feedback by forum members?
