By TLex I’m not sure why Delma have decided to borrow rather than draw upon their own heritage for the new Periscope’s design –

which is supposed to echo that of their first dive watch of the same name from 1969. I’ve only seen pictures of the vintage Periscope, but there is very little if any resemblance.

The 1969 Periscope was a high water-resistant sports watch. It didn’t have a timing bezel either. I haven’t got a pic, but you could try and Google it.
It could be possibly likened to Zodica’s Heritage SEA DRAGON. Although I like the idea of a new Persicope plus one or two features such as the hands –

because of the poor choice of bezel inlay which is aluminum not even Sapphire; this one leaves scratching my head.
Here’s a quick rundown of the new Periscope’s spec. The case, which measures 45.5mm is in Stainless steel and is fitted with a Sapphire crystal.

There’s more Sapphire crystal round the back allowing you to see the Periscope’s ETA 2824-2 automatic movement with custom gold plated Delma rotor.
and a transparent case back, measures 45.5 mm in diameter and is water-resistant to a depth of 500 meters. It’s price is 1400CHF.
