Greetings, I'm Mike

Master Apprentice WIS
I have an Alpina Startimer Pilot Sunstar Automatic, an Orient Star Standard Date and yesterday ordered a Glycine Combat Sub. The Alpina kind of ruined the Orient for me. The quality of the Alpina is just so insanely great, and it's the best bracelet I've ever had in hand.

Of course, I really like Tudors and Omegas, like everyone else. I do well, but even so buying a watch like that would make me feel like I'm stealing from my kids, even secondhand. Replicas don't sit well with me, so I keep an eye on homages.

Not nuts about most of the micros. They either look cheap or they cost as much as a mid tier Swiss, and I'd prefer a gen mid tier to most micros. But from the countless forum posts I've read here and WUS, and all the Youtube vids, I am very interested in Borealis. I think Borealis has the homage nailed, especially with the generations that we're currently waiting on. Perhaps the Francis Drake and the Sea Hawk were a little close for comfort, but after extensive viewing of the Estoril and Bull Shark I think they are very nice homages that stand on their own. I'm still in on the fence mode and reading through the Estoril thread.

ps
Maria must be some kind of wonderful to be so open to user input and always always keep up her professional demeanor on the forum, unlike a certain micro entrepreneur on WUS who I'm sure there is no need to name. It is definitely making me even more interested in purchasing a Borealis. Initially I was against micros, but I am trying to keep an open mind, and what I've seen of past Borealis watches and reading through the development of the current models I think my bias may have been misplaced, at least in the instance of Borealis watches.

Anyway, pleased to meet you, and now I have to go finish the last 20 or so pages of the Estoril thread :)
