By TLex Who doesn’t like sharks! I couldn’t eat a whole one mind you ;) And with shark week not far behind us, it couldn’t be a more perfect time to introduce ANOTHER shark inspired diver!

This extremely handsome looking devil – I mean shark is the new Hammerhead from ZELOS that boasts a some really cool design features such as the option to have a meteorite dial or the one for a Damascus steel bezel!

Let’s start with the case which can be had in either CuSn8 Marine Bronze or 316L Stainless steel. It takes the classic 70s cushion style but rather than soft rounded flowing lines – these have now been hardened, sharpened and made more angular.

The case is fitted with High Double domed Sapphire crystal with AR-coating on it inside and a bezel with Ceramic AKA Zirconium Oxide insert with a hardness of ~1500 Vickers.

The dial of the Hammerhead is made from dual-layers, with the outer minutes layer fully coated in BGW9 lume; while the top layer has a circular brushed finish so as to catch some sunlight.

The hour markers have been custom designed to sit up as high as possible so as to create greater depth and an overall more visually dramatic dial.

Okay, about those special features. Meteorite is metal that has been formed from millions of years of slowly cooling; it cannot be reproduced synthetically.

Each and every meteorite dial has a different pattern, otherwise known as the Widmanstatten Patterns. Zelos have used Muonionalusta meteorite which can be found in Sweden.

Another special feature is on option to have a Damascus steel bezel. There aren’t too many people using this material, but I think it’s safe to say that H2O Watches were certainly pioneers in using this material for dive watches.

Further features include a Seiko NH35 automatic movement with hacking-seconds and a water-resistance of 1000 meters.
