Beautiful! Bunitu bunitu as we say here in our country. Something similar now on kickstarter

seems they buy pocket watches and convert them to wrist watches.
Did you have to service your movement? Did it fit well in case? Really great work! You are a true watch maker!
I've been seeing a lot of these popping up on the internet and thought I'd try to build one my self at a fraction of what some of those are selling for…anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. I like to tinker with, modify things, my car and phones for example. There are a lot of the old movements available on the web, ton's on eBay, (some affordable, some expensive.) Depending on your budget, you can create a nice unique/ vintage looking watch for a reasonable price… Regarding servicing, I think I got lucky. I've bought pieces that truly didn't wouldn't work and were sold only for parts. On this one, I didn't think I needed to strip it down to service(though I'm still looking to buy an ultrasonic cleaner)… I just added a little oil to the top/ exposed areas that might need some… I had it for close to a week before putting it into a case so that I could track its accuracy and regulate it if needed… It running +/_ 30 seconds a day… I already had the case(46mm) and just kinda fabricated a movement holder from scratch. I even cut a modern (eta 6497) winding stem to fit, because it didn't come with one. It's also a "lever set" so rather than drilling another hole into the case to add a button for this, if needed, I can screw off the caseback, move the lever, set it, then screw the caseback back on… As long as I remember to keep it wound, I shouldn't have to do that very often… Someday, I hope to find a nice working Hamilton 917 movement with stem wind and set to replace it. Not sure if I'd call myself a "watch maker" yet, since most of what I've picked up about watches is from reading watch forums and watching a lot of youtube videos… I've done two of these(Pocket watch conversions) now, a few Pilot watches and may look into building a custom diver next,( hand picked case, movement, dial, etc…) But thanks for the kind words.

P.S. after clicking on your link and watching the Kick Starter video I noticed that the guys in the video are using traditional(winding stem at 12 vs 3) pocket watches. I personally look for watches that were made in "Hunter" cases with their stem at the more modern standard 3 vs 12 o'clock… These type of movements/ and cases are readily available and work best for me.
