I just posted the link to this thread on our FB group Dive Watches where there is over 9k Dive watch owner's so maybe we can get this rolling!

I am not a sponsor at watchuseek would be banned.
To post would have to be a sponsor. Becoming one would increase price of project and in the end you would pay more for it.
If a kind soul is able to post info about project there would be appreciated.

Could be either solution but have to double check with factory. The Sea Hawk we didn't use a HEV as that was the solution to get the case profile as slim as possible. On this one it may be possible to add it in one of the lugs I think but have to double check with engineers.

Four things I don't like in the original design (all personal opinions of course):

1) orange seconds hand is meaningless, you should have an orange minute hand, which is what is used when diving
2) the hands are ugly, they should be simple, squared
3) bracelet not my style
4) no date

The massive lugs are not my style either and 24mm lugs on a 42mm watch are too big, but if the price is aggressive, they may be acceptable, if the bracelet tapers to the clasp.
You don't say, but sapphire glass, slightly domed, should be mandatory.

Sorry to say but this watch is ugly.
Make it with a Avenger II GMT (GMT hand aside) and a chapter ring with a 12-59 scale for the minutes chapter ring.

The seconds hand could be like this avenger or even using shape of the Avenger II GMT hand as the seconds!

Another change, what do you think?

I prefer the original hands, especially the original second hand, over this version.

I like the bezel style.

The markers and chapter ring remind me of the 1st gen monster and give an opportunity for a lot of depth.

Crown looks well proportioned and appropriately chunky.

Will be very important to me that the bezel is also thick and chunky.

i think it would look better with 22mm lugs, i know you can't change that, but it just would.

i would prefer a simpler bracelet, perhaps more in the Monster style.

I like the name change to "Sunfish" as the "Starfish" evokes a very specific look, one that the Seiko Starfish captures much better than this design.

That being said, i would like it if you could incorporate some styling cues to better fit the name. Possibly taper the indices to make them look similar to a sunfish's fins or maybe just make the 12 o'clock marker in this style so it isn't overpowering.

It just needs something to give it a little more character and to truly justify the "Sunfish" name.

Here is a random pic that shows the fin shape:

Great idea on using the fish fin as the markers. Won't it though be too close to a Benarus Megalodon the fin shape in hour markers?

That's true, it would make it similar to a Megalodon or a Citizen Orca...
though i don't think that is a bad thing.

What if you just made the 12 o'clock and the 6 o'clock larger and "fin" shaped so that it even more captured the overall look of a sunfish? Might also give a more unique look compared to other brands. Just a thought.

Here is a 1st gen black monster:

you will note that the dial and indices are very similar...
my thought was that if you put a mirror image of the 12 o'clock marker at the 6,
it might just give it a small styling cue that reminds you of a sunfish.

You could use the stubby "tooth" shape like Seiko does or like the Megalodon uses...
or you could get more dramatic and make it longer and pointier, more the shape of the real fin...
Not sure how it would look in reality, but i sure like the sound of it.

PS: i am also torn over the date wheel color, my gut was to suggest it be black to blend into the dial better, but there is a case to made that the white balances things better because it plays off the 3 o.clock marker.

About all designs I go for the first one.
I like sword hands but, as already said here, I'd prefer it orange.
I like Case Diameter too.

I'd change:
to 22m lug (I know it is more expensive to you)
to 'no date'
Second hand, could be two colors (oragen acents only on the arrowhead)
2000m is too much, if you go to 1000m or 500m, it would be cheaper?
I like the dots on Breitling shown or CW C60 (i mean, the small ones)

I liked the watch!
Just one more question, is there lume on bezel?

Bezel is ceramic lumed with BGW9, yes.

Price of watch would be fairly similar for 2000m, 1000m and 500m as we are using a case from factory.

It has already been engineered for 2500m so by changing water resistance in dial it won't reduce height.

I am trying to check with factory if it is possible to make it 22mm. Depends if cases are already finished or they still have only the blanks.

Just a quick mockup. Not sure if it works this type of markers coupled with the rectangular ones.

Your thoughts?
You have a point.

though i think if the "fins" were slightly larger and longer that they might not be overpowered by the 3 and 9 rectangles as much.

another option could be to taper, either rounded or to a point, all the other markers...
or even just taper the 3 and 9...
though it would give it a vastly different, more organic, appearance.

Oh and just my personal tastes, but i would prefer it didn't have a HEV if it doesn't need it. I just like the simpler and cleaner of look of not having one.
