I may have missed it but is the bezel gonna be like the original and "stepped" (see pic)? If so, that is awesome.
From what we've pieced from Maria's posts, yeah, it's going to be faithful to the SM300 in that respect.

As far as I know, the SM 300 always had an asymmetrical case, with the side at 3 wider and acting as crown guard.

Regards,
Thanks phlabrooy and Dan for your comments - I noted the difference between the early and later renders but didn't pick up the asymmetrical case looking at photographs of the SM 300, cheers, Richard

I really hope this watch stays as thin as possible.
Everything else is a big win, it could come out amazing.

While case thickness (thinness) will be the deciding factor on my buying one of these, I would like to suggest a reconsideration on the bezel insert, I have had a high failure rate with sapphire inserts with delamination being the main problem. I don't know if it's just how I use my watches but I actually dive them and in no way baby them, so far ceramic is the best insert material I've found and so far have never had any issue with one.

We can have endless discussions on ceramic vs sapphire however a decision on this project has already been made and design is now closed.
We are now working on technical details.

All I need to see now are the final renders and the preorder price. I think it is nicely done, and I hope to add one to my collection soon, even though I already have a Watchco Seamaster 300.

After a few iterations we are ending up with a total of 8 versions for the Borealis Estoril 300!

Design is now closed. Factory is working on the technical details.

We tried to please majority of requests made but at this stage design is now closed.
Provided that the design stage is closed I must say it looks great ( I love Omega's cases). Nevertheless I post my impressions.

In order to get a true to the original watch I would have preferred a symmetric case (without crown guard) and a bigger dial related to the case size, the chosen one looks a bit more modern and robust and it would fit prefectly in an Aquaterra's homage (other watch I love it could be an idea).

But everything it is decided now so It will remain the same.

And another question related to the cristal. Is it going to be a highly domed cristal similar to the Scorpionfish's one? It would look great.

Thank you very much

As has been mentioned repeatedly on this thread, the asymmetric case design is part of the original Seamaster 300. I have my Omega Seamaster 300 on my wrist at this very moment, and the case on the right is wider to serve as a crown guard. This is a design feature that the Aqua Terra inherits from the vintage Seamaster 300s.

Yes, probably Aquaterra and/or other present models inherit older design, cases have not changed too much. However at first glance renders Estoril appear to be a bit more robust than the original, with a narrower dial.
Just my perception. Perhaps I am wrong and proportions are the same
In any case it looks very beautiful.

This is so nice!
By the way, it seems version B is the majority when you google the images of "SM 300 royal navy". To me, somehow B looks like the "royal navy" as well.
Pardon me if I missed the lengthy discussions in the thread, but which one is supposed to be legitimate to honor the royal navy?
