Yes, they are or even better in my opinion. The Swiss stopped innovating years ago. Now they just carry the name and that is it.

Look at Tag Heuer that is basically milking movements from Seiko and to Soprod that is just legally copying movements from Seiko as well.

La Jou-Perret is also basically doing an upgraded Miyota 9015 ... This sums it all.

Swiss Midas touch on watch movements.
