What I meant is

If the 15% discount would only apply at deposit and not at final payment on average would be a 7.5% discount of total price.

However this is not the case and the 15% discount applies to BOTH pre-order deposit and final payment.

Well I'm in for both the Estoril & the Batial! Did take advantage of the discount (thanks Maria) on the Estoril based on previous purchase of the Batial! And now onto the anticipation of final renderings (real life pict.) and the actual shipping date of both the Estoril & Batial. I also think the Seafarer is an outstanding release, but for me I already have too many "like minded" looking pieces in collection, albeit without that uniquely Borealis twist that Maria & Co. have put into the Seafarer! And as I've stated previously (other threads) it appears that this Co. (Borealis/Prometheus) is quickly becoming quite the force to be reckoned with within the micro/boutique brand landscape! And with the introduction of these three new models into the equation that helps to solidify my opinion that this company will continue to ramp up the "bang for your buck" competitiveness that many of us in the SF-71 marketplace would look for! Don't know (specifically) how they continue to do it, but as long as they keep up the great work/efforts then they'll continue to get this collector to invest ;)!

Does anyone know if the original series of SM 300 ever came out with the blue dial and blue bezel combo?

I definitely like the "A.1" configuration, but then I am also intrigued by "C.1" which is the blue-dial with numeral 12 and date.

With the 15% discount, I may even consider a no-date version of a different colour from the version with date that I am going to acquire.

I will probably won't make up my mind until I have the opportunity to see the blue colour samples from the factory......

Decisions, decisions!

I am not 100% sure. But I am 99.9% sure that the original series of SM300 made in the 50s to 60s does not have any blue dial nor blue bezel.

I think what Borealis is trying to do here are homage to SM300s of that era. The Estoril black/big triangle/no date is similar to the SM300 introduced in 1967 for the use by the British Royal Navy.

The blue Estoril are modern take of old SM300s.

I definitely want to get both the Estoril and a Seafarer II, although not sure which versions as yet. Especially after all the input that I assisted in providing !!!
Definitely one of the no date Estorils, but which one ?
Also have lots of black watches, so maybe a grey, or blue Seafarer II.
Am in no real hurry, as I need to set aside funds. Am at present waiting for the second payment request on an Anko, too ..... so will wait awhile before deciding.
Really these are great watches at even greater prices, Maria.

Regards,

Thanks for pointing it out, just updated pre-order details on store. What is provided is a nato strap.

We simply have no margins (we reduced them as much as we could without compromising on watch specs) to provide extra goodies with the Estoril.

Yes, I just noticed that you just made the changes, so edited my post !
I really can't believe the price you are offering on the Estoril, especially after all you mentioned previously regarding costs !

That is because our total margins are really slim and yet some complained saying price too high.
I definitely expected, as quite a few others here too, I believe, the price of the Estoril 300 and Seafarer II, to be quite a bit higher .... also the Batial, with the given specs ....
Pleasantly surprised !
I think many people are not really aware of the quality these days, of Borealis watches .... they still have negative impression from the two earlier models, like Francis Drake and Sea Diver....

Regards,

Agreed, the price is really good on all three of the models (I'll very certainly preorder one of each... early in November) and some people don't seem to understand the level of quality Borealis delivers and the cost of some options.

Thanks for your clarification on the blue dial/bezel Estoril 300 which I am warming up to. For now, I am willing to wait for the factory colour samples before I decide on which version(s) to pick up.

Thanks

You know what they say, you only have one chance to make a first impression. What watch would you say represents accurately the quality that Borealis now delivers? The only Borealis I have experience with is the Sea Hawk.

While that statement may be true, it does not mean that the quality of product offered cannot improve over time....
All the models offered after the Francis Drake and Sea Diver are vastly improved pieces, light years away from those two weak models, and offer solid, value for money products. The fit and finishing, and overall specs are right up there with many other well known brands.
I only have a Scorpionfish myself, but the quality and finishing really rocks, especially considering what I paid for it !
I believe these new models are going to be just as great.

Maria,

One more question ...

I am thinking of changing one of my order Estoril, from ver. C.1 (blue/no triangle/date) to ver. C (no date) instead. Possible?

Hi There - I've just registered on the forum as the Estoril is almost exactly what I've been waiting for for a long time. I wish to pre-order. I understand how but, being from the UK I have small question - VAT is added at pre-order but, when importing from the US I have a customs handling fee + VAT bill to pay. Will I be paying VAT twice? Do Borealis declare the VAT somehow? Hopefully you (or someone) could help?
I can't see the case details but I assume a mix of brushed and polished or is that detail not yet finalized? Superb work. Very excited about this watch and my introduction to Borealis!

Oh Dear, My apologies - I just read the shipping information and see you're in Portugal. No additional charges. :) I assumed, as I was paying in USD - that you were in the US. Sorry for the daft question. Now - date or no date....?
