I would prefer the bezel numbers not be underscored. Otherwise the renders are looking great.
Agreed, I'm not a fan of the underscored bezel numbers. I don't think the absence of the underscores compromises the ability of anyone to use the bezel as a timing bezel.

I really think white should be better on the lume so no green ones this time... A parachute canvas nato could be a nice idea for the strap...

Love the 49mm l2l as someone with smaller wrists, and bgw9 if applied thick as planned is going to be plenty bright and long lasting IMO (and I say that as someone who doesn't buy watches with lume that won't last through the night).

Looking forward to this one for sure!

I'm definitely in on this one, and it will be my first Borealis. The current design is excellent, and I'm glad to see that BGW9 lume will be used.

It's a homage and also can be worn any occasion. Thankfully both date and non date will be offered. I personally can't wear a watch without date.

Maria, I am excited to see you release the Estoril and SeaDog. Also, you appear to have the minute details lockstep. I defer to your good decisions here: double-domed sapphire, saphhire bezel, high beat Miyota 9015 over NH35A, lume application to markers. It looks like we have a winner! Now, to get this to production and delivery...

I'm also one who has to have a date. IMO, having the date is nearly as important as having the time!

Please please don't use C3 ! Don't want a daylight lime green. Daylight white is the right colour for a modern take
Absolutely agree.
And, in addition to that for anyone interested in lume for real application and not for flashing a strong LED torch on it for one minute and then looking at the watch for 5 minutes, the BGW9 is actually superior: doesn't shine so bright at the beginning, looses strength rather quickly in the first 10 or so minutes, but then stays visible for a looooooooooooong time. In my personal experience, longer than both C3 or Seiko lumibrite.

So the people complaining about the lume of either the Sea Dragon or the Scorpion Fish, look at your watches after 2 or 3 hours in the dark (make it 8 hours, even), and you'll realise how good that lume really is.

Yeah it's easy to remember month and year, but far more difficult to remember the date. For some people day is important too as they forget it. I understand symmetry and such, but it seems an essential feature of time. Much easier to remember, month, year, and even day, but date is difficult. Date is useful and would negate using the computer or phone, or asking someone to check.

I'll use it as a daily driver too... but to me that's typically a piece that needs to be no date.

I just reviewed all the inputs on the first seven pages. I'm all for markers on the bezel, but I don't really like the short ticks under the numbers. I very much like the bezel on the SM300, with date, that Maria posted back on page 4. The bezel numbers are big and bold! For my taste, the Page 4 SM300 can be THE template for the version with date. Otherwise, things are shaping up nicely, IMO.

Maria,

I greatly appreciate you and the Borealis Team asking us for feedback through the forum! I really like everything about what I have summarized below from all the 7 pages of post.

Questions:

· Can the font be slightly larger “Estoril 300” in Italic script font on the dial, so it’s closer to the SM300?

· Will you add the word “Automatic” in all Italic script font under the word “BOREALIS”?

· Is it possible to have drilled lug holes to make it easier for strap changes?

· Will the Double domed sapphire crystal have an internal AR coating in minimize glare?

Borealis Estoril 300m – Spec’s Summary to date, 8-09-2015:

It is a tribute to the SM300 from the 1960s. Estoril also has strong connections to the origins of the novel Casino Royale.

Base Spec's so far in the preliminary design on the Borealis forum:

· 41.5mm case

· 49mm L2L

· 20mm Lugs

· Miyota 9015 automatic movement

· Double domed sapphire crystal

· Sapphire Inlay bezel with BGW9 Lume (White, glows Blue) with short ticks under the numbers

· Big Triangle Black matte dial with BGW9 Lume

· Date and No Date dial options

· 20mm Rubber strap and James Bond style Nato strap

· Optional: 20mm mesh bracelet

· Case profile will be very similar to the Omega Seamaster 300m, I like this A LOT!

I am all for the one without date and mesh bracelet.

Now patiently waiting for the answer to the most important question - How much?

Please take your time work out the pricing. I can wait as long as a year or so. ;)
