Melbourne Watch Co have released the preorder for their 4th release, the Parkville. What’s the main things to know? Firstly, you can be assured that it’ll be an excellently built watch. Check out our reviews of the Hawthorn and Flinders to see how they fared. Secondly, it’s a 36mm case. In a world where watches are getting larger and larger, it’s so refreshing to see a classy watch in a size more suited to their purpose: being subtle, elegant, and unobtrusive to wear with a suit. Personally, I think the size will be perfect and I really look forward to getting my hands on one in the coming months (I can confirm that I will be getting one in to review). Thirdly, the specs are impressive for the price as usual. Sturdy Seiko auto movement, sapphire crystal, and the option of PVD rose gold plating for just an extra $10 is great. Fourthly, just look at the design. It looks beautiful. So if you fancy it then I recommend you pre-order it through their site, as you can get it $100 off the RRP.

Here’s the details provided from Sujain at Melbourne Watch Co:

The Parkville was created in response to customer feedback requesting a smaller midsize model that would appeal to both men and women while still maintaining our brand style and quality.

In keeping with our mission to celebrate a piece of Melbourne in each design, Melbourne Watch Co also chose to feature the historic ‘W-Class’ tram as a case-back engraving.

For reference, the specs for the Parkville are as follows:

  • Case – 36mm 316L Stainless Steel, PVD Rose Gold Plating optional. 11mm thickness.
  • Movement – Seiko NH35A automatic
  • Crystal – Flat Sapphire
  • Dial – Multi-layered with rosetta spiral guilloche centre pattern
  • Hands – Hour/minute/sweep second with signature “M” counter-balance
  • Strap – 18mm leather, stainless steel buckle
  • WR – 30m/3ATM
  • Warranty – 24 months

Pricing for the pre-orders starts at $379AUD (£212) for the plain steel version and $389AUD (£218) for the rose gold plated version.

The Parkville is already in production and will be released in November with an MSRP of $479AUD (£268) and $489AUD (£274) respectively.

Pre-orders will continue until the production version is released and can be placed via their website:
