I discovered Borealis yesterday and ordered a Scorpionfish with the black dial and modern hands today. Now I need to be uncharacteristically patient while I wait for it to arrive.

Maria, can you please confirm if the Scorpionfish is limited to 100 pieces or not. If so what configuration are the numbers made up of. Wondering if I secure another that's all  Thanks.

Wow, great to see the black dial with modern hands is now out of stock!! Hopefully those of you who wanted one got in on time (phew, I did). I'm still trying to work out if the Scorpionfish is limited to 100 pieces (all evidence points to it) and if so, how the ratio is split. Either way I'm stoked knowing August is just around the corner!

All fellow Scorpionfish lovers,

To date, there is no explicit evidence (that I am aware of) that this model is a limited production run of 100 pieces. However, one thing for sure is that it had been mentioned in one of the previous conversations that the Scorpionfish case backs are not going to receive serial numbers which I find disappointing. :(

It is a beautiful dive watch with a quasi-vintage styling and I am looking forward to seeing it in person ........

I would definitely recommend it to my friends who would appreciate a finely-crafted and robust time piece. It is certainly a keeper!

I agree with you Chant that the Scorpionfish is most definitely a beautiful robust looking diver with wonderful vintage(esk) styling. A true testament to the detail and passion Maria and the team have for this project.

in previous posts I have asked if the Scorpionfish was going to be limited to 100 pieces as I read in earlier posts Maria sourced this number of cases from a parent company to use for this project. My apologies if this info is incorrect. However that doesn't detract from my and others excitment waiting to see this watch in the flesh again great work Borealis for this stunning piece

We have been offered a total of 100 cases from factory to make this project. We have to use what they offer so can't tell at this stage if we are able to make it 22mm instead of offered 24mm.

As quantity offered will be small will be difficult to offer different dial colors as factory requires a minimum order of 100 dials on each variant.

A sapphire bezel can be made but will increase costs. Are you willing to pay $40/$50 USD extra even though we haven't discussed yet sales price?

The quote above from Borealis is from very early on in the discussion process and where I got the assumption of 100 pieces.

Looks like you have come out with another winner for sure.
Won't be very much longer now .....

Awesome stuff! Even though I pre-ordered the black dial/Plongeur hands, I'm so bummed that the black dial/modern hands combo was sold out when I got to the site.

Nevertheless, the daytime/lume shots totally validate how awesome this watch is going to be :)

how's the watch for a really clumsy diver? i like the 2000m rating, haha, but will i scratch the heck out of the super domed crystal or will the sapphire hold up? especially diving a blue hole.

Patient indeed. It seems the watch world is a never ending hunt.
