Been following this since Nov and still can't decide between the black or orange...never had an orange dial before so this could be the first! Can't wait to see the samples before committing! And hopefully before the coupon ends... ;)

I have the Grey dial on pre-order, I am thinking I might need to add a black /orange one...hmm. Maybe the prototype pics will help.

Some good news and bad news.

The good news: prototypes are made for the Borealis Sea Dragon and received photos from factory






They are sending them tomorrow to me. However as for the bad news they did it wrong in some aspects:

  • dials without opening window
  • minute hands have wrong frame color
  • lume thickness has to be improved
  • Silver White dial has the seconds hand blue color wrong
  • Bezel depth not deep enough
  • crown tube neck is too long has to be shorter as in drawings
Regardless of this minus I asked factory to send prototypes as is so I can check more details.

After Chinese New Year they will remake prototypes improving aforementioned points and some other details I will provide them after I have the prototypes checked.

Pumped to see more photos! And curious to see what other changes/improvements will be needed. (That grey is totally the right choice for me).

I like what I am seeing so far. I will definitely take the silver/white option. I was hoping the orange dial is more DOXAish. It is a little pale for my taste. Maybe that is a good thing?

The gray dial is looking good too. May have to snatch that one.

This is something I will also need to check once I have prototypes with me (colors of dials and pantone colours as it is hard to judge from photos as tones also depend on white balance and calibration of screens).

Obviously there are some tweaks to be made...
but i have to say that they look very promising,
can't wait to see some side shots and 3/4 views

I think it looks great, I just wish you would add drilled lugs (at least on one side of the lugs) to allow bracelets with closed end links like on the tuna. The missing color on the minute hands doesn't bother me much, I actually like it, dials have so much color already :)
