Good Lord. I'm SO in for this pre-order if the size isn't oversized!

Big vote for C3 lume, though. BGW9 might look better, but I'm all for lasting lume.

Would estimated pre-order pricing be similar to the Scorpionfish?

Just wondering for the sake of keeping cost down and also the vintage look if we should look into using acrylic dome crystal?
Not sure if dome crystal will still be able to emulate the same effect.

Don't know if it's do-able, but I like the look of acrylic crystals on vintage style watches. Sure, they scratch easily, but they're also easy to polish up.

As promised unveiling last renders of the Borealis Estoril 300.

Some small changes to be made but will take some time to update those (we have to decide bezel numbers to be underscored or not). Not because we are lazy but we are all busy with HK Watch Fair.

I still wonder about a vintage lume , like Steinhart's OVM. Drilled lugs, acrylic domed crystal. How about a leather nato strap? Should not be too expensive of an options, and would work well with this I think.

Looking really good! Loving all options even the pvd.

Think we need also to decide the 3 on the bezel should be rounded instead. Also someone suggested to remove m to show only Estoril 300 on the dial

Very beautiful result. Scored or Not scored. The Date Version Im in. Heavenly would be with Vintage loome aus attached file.
Initially idea was to use RC Tritec vintage lume but two big caveats:

  • lume does not glow as much and does not last long (compared to BGW9)
  • it is harder for hands and dial tonalities to match (as it is different factories that manufacture hands and dial).
Therefore it has been strongly suggested by factory and ultimately decided to use BGW9 lume.

Yeah, that was me .....
After looking at it for a really long time, still feel we need to use the rounded 3 on the bezel.
And as I suggested earlier, to drop that unnecessary m, just making it Estoril 300, also in keeping with the original SM 300.
Other than that, all is great !

I really love this picture (borrowed from the net )

To clarify: both date and no date versions will be offered for pre-order. As for rest of details we will revisit those when factory is less busy with HK Watch fair.

After seeing the first render my opinions:

- Don't like the plungeur needles. The watch needs straight needles more similar to the original.
- I don't like the font of the numbers on the dial.
- I guess the shadow is misleading, and indices are painted (not implemented).
- The insert strikes me as too wide.

And yet ... I still like it a lot.:)

This project is all custom made as almost no OEM parts exist. However something that we will reuse from existing catalogue are the watch hands. If we are to make hands exactly as the vintage version prices will increase considerably as factory will require a minimum set of 2000 hands + tooling charges.

Lume in dial is painted without applied indexes as the vintage version. It will also allow to have very thick lume applied. This has been discussed a few pages back.

In the end project is all about compromise. Some will want a small adjustment in dial, others in hands, bezel, lug width but it won't be possible to make it as everyone wants or we would end up making over 20 different versions so we have to do a compromise.
