To each his own but I think this Prometheus and Helberg CH8 are killer. Miyota 9015 is a ultra modern movement. Now the Swiss just copy Japanese movements from Seiko or Miyota
Are you sure the movement is an ETA 2836-2 adapted to GMT? Not a Hangzhou 6490 or some ETA parts combined with Hangzhou 6490? Very expensive for what it offers. Many more affordable options can be found in market at this price range.
If I had the money this would be definitely a watch I wouldn't buy. I love Seiko but the Grand Seiko Spring Drive GMT SBGE015 does not do it for me.
Design is very plain and hard that bezel is very difficult to read. A simple mess.
Seiko has to learn proper designs from Rolex
Nice looking watch the Detroit Watch Company Aviator but quite expensive for the Miyota 821A used. You can buy a Helberg, Helson, Armida, Borealis, Prometheus for less than that with better specs for the money imho.
This Seiko Prospex GMT Diver's SUN019 looks great! Nice looking and great that Seiko used a sapphire crystal! Are there other dial colors such as white?
Fully agree with you. I guess I didn't explain myself well. Omega makes great watches but I think they are over marketing themselves with some of the claims. Those marketing gimmicks work well though with the general market.
I guess that guy UWE works for Steinhart and gets a commission on each sale so you can expect anything but a unbiased view at that forum. Same here in what relates to Borealis watches but at least I guess they are open in that and we are able to talk openly about them and other watch brands.
Sorry but this Ralf Tech WRX Edition Manufacture Pirates powered by a Calibre type 77 movement does not do it for me.
The dial is plain ugly and with bad taste. The bezel a total mess and not even illuminated so what is the purpose of it?
Also the calibre 77 looks to me a Unitas?
Specs taken...
Is that a good price? You can pre-order a Prometheus Poseidon for about that price and it is a hell lot better watch than this one in my opinion, not that I have money for it though.
This METAS certification is nothing ground breaking. Basically Omega is admitting they could do better in past but COSC was enough ... now as they feel the pressure from Rolex and Grand Seiko they have to ensure their movements run +0-->+5 secs a day while in past they could run from -4 -->+6...
