Yes, they are or even better in my opinion. The Swiss stopped innovating years ago. Now they just carry the name and that is it.
Look at Tag Heuer that is basically milking movements from Seiko and to Soprod that is just legally copying movements from Seiko as well.

This is basically a Miyota 9015 design with a different regulator arm added. Is this the value the Swiss can bring nowadays? How original.
Well La Joux Perret is owned by Citizen Miyota ... so basically they are Japanese at heart as all engineering is made in Japan and CNC machine is plugged in Switzerland. Does that make it more valuable?

A shame this one didn't get funded at kickstarter as I really liked this one. If they could have had used a Miyota 9015 maybe they would have had made it.
